Amnesty report: Executions reach highest level in 44 years

According to the human rights organization, the increase was driven primarily by executions in Iran and Saudi Arabia. In Iran, the number recorded in 2025 was more than twice as high as in the previous year. Amnesty International is calling on the German government to take a clear stance.
