HANDOUT - 03.02.2023, USA, ---: Ein Pilot der U.S. Air Force blickt auf den mutmaßlichen chinesischen Überwachungsballon hinab, der am 3. Februar 2023 über dem zentralen Festland der Vereinigten Staaten schwebte. Der Ballon hatte nach seiner Entdeckung tagelang große Teile der USA überflogen, auch Militäreinrichtungen. Die US-Regierung ging davon aus, dass er zu Spionagezwecken unterwegs war. Deshalb wurde der Ballon am 4. Februar schließlich abgeschossen, nachdem er vor der Küste des Bundesstaats South Carolina über offenem Meer war. Chinese balloons spotted over Taiwan

Taiwan has spotted two Chinese balloons in the sky. They had crossed the Taiwan Strait and were spotted northwest of the city of Keelung. China has had a comprehensive balloon espionage program since 2019.
