Romania: Run-off vote will decide the country's European course.

The run-off election in Romania will also decide whether the country remains on a pro-Western course: The far-right George Simion is the favorite going into the second round on Sunday. However, the pro-European challenger and Bucharest mayor Nicusor Dan has recently caught up.

Suspected corruption: Judiciary investigates NATO employee.

There are suspicions that employees of the NATO procurement agency NSPA passed on confidential information to arms companies when purchasing armaments such as ammunition and drones via NATO. The Belgian judiciary is also investigating indications that money from these illegal practices was laundered through the establishment of consulting firms, among other things.

Ethics authority: EPP to terminate interinstitutional agreement.

The Christian Democrats in the EU Parliament do not agree with the interinstitutional agreement on the creation of an ethics authority. They therefore led a right-wing majority in the Constitutional Affairs Committee against an amendment to the Rules of Procedure. Now they want to vote in plenary on whether the interinstitutional agreement should be revoked by Parliament.
