Russian funds: Council Presidency supports Commission proposal

No alternative: Commission and Danish Council Presidency see reparation loans to Ukraine as the only viable option. (EU-Rat)

The EU Commission’s proposal to use the frozen funds of the Russian state bank to provide financial support to Ukraine has received backing from many member states. There is simply a lack of alternatives.
