Trilogue agreement on Nature Restoration Law

Bergkamen, Ruhrgebiet, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland - Herbstlandschaft an der Seseke. Die renaturierte Seseke, ein Nebenfluss der Lippe, wurde zum naturnahem Gewaesser umgestaltet, Hochwasserschutz und Biodiversitaet durch neu gestaltete Ueberflutungsflaechen. Die Seseke ist nach dem Bau eines parallel verlaufenden Abwasserkanals jetzt abwasserfrei, war vorher ein offener, oberirdischer Schmutzwasserkanal, Mischwasserkanal mit Oberflaechenwasser und Abwasser. The Nature Restoration Law will enable the EU to meet its international obligations in relation to biodiversity and climate action. However, the agreement in the trilogue is not yet the end of the bitter political battle that began before the summer.
