Brazil: National Congress Eases Approval Process for Climate-Damaging Investments

Despite sharp criticism from Minister Marina Silva and environmental NGOs, the Brazilian Congress has passed a law that significantly simplifies the approval of new oil, gas, mining, and agribusiness projects. President Lula has 15 days to either sign the bill into law or issue a veto.
