For a long time, it was almost impossible to say whether an extreme weather event was linked to the climate crisis. Today, thanks to attribution research, heavy rainfall and similar events can be increasingly linked to global warming. An initiative by Davide Faranda now even aims to do this "almost in real time." But there is also criticism.
