Switzerland saves climate law with subsidies

In a referendum, Switzerland adopted the goal of becoming climate neutral by 2050. The success was made possible by pressure from society and subsidies instead of higher burdens on consumers. Now suitable measures are still missing.

Tempting offer: trading debt for climate protection

Debt-for-nature swaps will also be a topic at French President Macron's climate finance summit. The idea sounds promising: They are supposed to release money for climate and nature protection in countries of the Global South, and at the same time help in the fight against the debt crisis. Paris summit to prepare for a climate-friendly financial system
