'Water consumption is under-regulated'

Since Wednesday, the UN Water Conference in New York has been deliberating on how all people can be provided with enough water. Climate change, which is exacerbating the global water crisis, is also on the agenda. IPCC lead author Matthias Garschagen explains how good adaptation can be achieved.

As Jaflong is a rocky area, it is not possible to install any shallow or deep tube wells, only ring wells can be installed which makes it very difficult to provide coverage and drinking water to the entire area.
