Geopolitics: India's reckoning with its dangerous neighborhood

Instability in the Himalayas, power struggles in South East Asia, ongoing crises in Pakistan – the conflicts in India's neighborhood are on the rise and increasingly threaten New Delhi itself. Refugee flows, the threat of terrorism and China's growing attempts to exert influence make it clear that the world's largest democracy can no longer rely on its strategic autonomy, but must take a more active role in stabilizing the region.
