The human rights organization ECCHR has filed complaints against VW, Mercedes-Benz and BMW with the German Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) for possible human rights violations in supply chains in the Chinese region of Xinjiang. Xi to Blinken: 'This is very good'

As part of his China trip, US Secretary of State Blinken also met with Chinese President and Party Leader Xi Jinping. While Xi appeared conciliatory, China's top diplomat Wang Yi remained uncompromising. Beijing intends to continue blocking all military-level contacts. Blinken in China: They talk. For five and a half hours

Antony Blinken is in China. It is the first visit by a US Secretary of State in five years. The talks are frosty - but the fact that they happen at all is a success. Relations between China and the USA are strained; the most important thing is to prevent an escalation. The question now is whether Blinken will also meet Xi.
