Over the past few years, a growing number of organizations in China that support the rights of the LGBTQ community have been forced to close down. The CCP propagates classic role models. Yet people who move outside gender norms have never been more visible.

The Chair of the German-Chinese parliamentary group and former Federal Minister of the Interior, Hans-Peter Friedrich, is concerned about developments in China: Controls have increased massively, as he himself observed in Beijing and Shanghai. On the other hand, he criticizes the German government for attempting to decouple from China. Michael Radunski and Felix Lee spoke with Friedrich.
