AI in weapon systems: Ministry of Defense wants to regulate human control in a binding manner

After a long wait, the Federal Ministry of Defense plans to present an AI concept at the end of the year. The new concept defines AI as a “key technology” and is intended to clarify the extent to which autonomous weapon systems are allowed to operate without human control.
