US sanctions on financial transactions: German state of North Rhine-Westphalia moves to protect civil society

North Rhine-Westphalia plans to introduce a legislative initiative aimed at preventing German banks from freezing accounts out of “anticipatory compliance.” The move follows the cases involving ICC Judge Nicolas Guillou and the NGO HateAid.
