Tobacco tax: Council presidency's compromise needs further improvements

The Commission is proposing that member states transfer 15% of tobacco tax revenues to the EU. In total, tobacco taxes amounting to approximately €14 billion are expected to be allocated to the next MFF starting in 2028.
