Energy prices: European refineries urged to boost production

The European Commission plans to implement a range of measures to lower energy prices and ensure security of supply. Plans to provide relief to businesses in several areas are outlined in two draft proposals.

Eine Shell Destillationsanlage am Standort Wesseling bei Köln. Der Energiekonzern Shell stellt in den kommenden Tagen seine Rohölverarbeitung an diesem Standort ein und wird die Destillationsanlage abschalten. Seit Inbetriebnahme der Raffinerie 1940 wurden dort Kraft- und Heizstoffe produziert - zunächst aus Kohle, später aus Rohöl.
