Federal budget: Commission monitors situation

EU states may pay energy aid for longer

The EU Commission is allowing member states to pay certain aid for the sharp rise in energy prices until the end of June 2024. The governments would otherwise have had to discontinue aid such as the German energy price brake at the end of the year.
