Geothermal Energy Act: What the federal government is planning

The German government wants to speed up the expansion of geothermal energy by, among other things, shortening deadlines in approval procedures. This is provided for in a draft bill from the BMWK, which is now being voted on. It is due to go before the cabinet in August.

Heatwave: Over 1,300 pilgrims died during Hajj

During the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, over 1,300 people died due to extreme heat. A rapid analysis suggests that the heatwave is linked to human-induced climate change. Additionally, millions of people in India, Gaza, the USA and around the Mediterranean are suffering from heatwaves.
