Poland: Small glimmers of hope between coal and nuclear power

Hardly any other European country produces energy that is as harmful to the climate as Poland and clings so stubbornly to coal. The expansion of renewables is not being actively supported. Much remains haphazard and fragmented. Instead, Poland is relying on nuclear power. On Sunday, the country will elect a new parliament. A victory for the opposition could bring new momentum to the energy transition.

Green Climate Fund: (Only) 9.3 billion for climate financing so far

The Green Climate Fund is intended to help developing countries reduce emissions and adapt to climate change. In Bonn, the fund was replenished with fresh money today. For the time being, however, the total amount is still lower than the last replenishment of the Green Climate Fund.
