After Petersberg: dispute becomes more heated

The Petersberg Climate Dialogue took the temperature of the negotiations in the run-up to COP29. The result: old and new demands for finance, an alliance for better climate plans and, with Azerbaijan, a confident next host. There are still many unanswered questions.

G7 agree to phase out coal by 2035

At the ministerial meeting in Turin, the G7 countries agreed on a joint coal phase-out by 2035. Storage capacities for renewables could also be massively expanded.
