There is a market for differentiating, sophisticated and competent journalism that is growing and that enables many new, attractive offers which would not exist without the new technologies We want to develop these offers with you editorially and technologically and bring them to market. This is not a vague hope, but a tried and tested viable business model for which there are role models in the USA and Denmark, for example – and in Berlin. The model in Berlin is the turnaround of the Tagesspiegel – from 4th place to No. 1 (twice as big as No. 2), new products, many new journalists, prizes and quotes – and pleasing economic results. At Table, we know this success story particularly well because we helped write it at the Tagesspiegel, among other things, as a member of the supervisory board, publisher, managing editor, head of newsroom, head of publishing, salesperson and head of marketing (along with many excellent colleagues, whom we extend our warmest regards).
