Reactivation of coal-fired power plants: Coal importers dispute statements by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy

The German Coal Importers Association disputes the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy’s assessment of the possible reactivation of coal-fired power plants. The association points to the plants’ good condition and says they can generate electricity at lower cost than gas-fired power plants.
