KMT leader Cheng Li-wun: From the pro-independence camp to an advocate of closer China ties

For the first time in 10 years, the head of Taiwan’s opposition Kuomintang, or KMT, is traveling to the People’s Republic at Beijing’s invitation. Cheng Li-wun sees the visit as a signal of greater rapprochement – something she says is necessary in the current geopolitical climate.
