Japan: Joint military exercises with the Philippines and the US

On Monday, Japan took part for the first time in the annual US-Philippine military exercise “Balikatan.” The exercise focused on repelling a simulated enemy landing. Meanwhile, Japanese Defense Minister Koizumi is visiting the Philippines to strengthen defense ties.
