Separation Line planned against Corona on Mount Everest

China wants to set up a “separation line” on Mount Everest. According to the government, this should prevent mountain guides and travellers from the People’s Republic and Nepal from infecting each other with the corona virus. A team of Tibetan mountain guides will draw the “dividing line” before climbers from the Chinese side reach the summit, news agencies reported on Monday, citing Chinese state media. Details on the practical implementation of the plan on the narrow peak, which only offers space for a few climbers, initially remained open.
