Sany and Pony build self driving trucks

Chinese construction equipment manufacturer Sany and AI specialist aim to develop self-driving trucks. Sany’s truck division has already combined a prototype with software from Pony, the “virtual driver,” and sent it on the road for tests. For Sany, the challenge was to have all the vehicle’s functions controlled digitally. First deliveries are expected to take place this year. Production of 10,000 units per year is planned by 2024. The computer hardware is supplied by US graphics card specialist Nvidia. fin
