Beijing plans to tighten controls in industries that consume a particularly large amount of energy and produce a lot of emissions. The goal is to advance low-carbon developments in the country, as the Ministry of the Environment announced on Monday. Reuters news agency reports that control in industries such as steel and aluminum should be tightened in the future. Guidelines for oil refineries, coking plants, and other projects that have a high impact on the environment should also not be lowered, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) said.
