Budapest Airport becomes Part of the “Air Silk Road”

Hungary and China are now also strengthening their cooperation in the air as part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The airport operators Budapest Airport Zrt. and Henan Airport Group (Zhengzhou Airport) signed a cooperation agreement to this end at the end of April, as the airport of the Hungarian capital announced. The Hungarian-Chinese logistics company CECZ/Utlink, which has been serving cargo flights of Hainan Airlines between Budapest and Zhengzhou since October 2020, is also involved. The cooperation aims to create dedicated logistics centers at both airports to better handle cargo traffic and thus increase the volume of freight traffic between the two countries, it said.
