One in five cars sold in China’s six largest cities is now an electric or hybrid car, data from the China Passenger Car Association shows. In Shanghai, the figure is as high as 31 percent of new car sales. In 2016, electric and hybrid cars still accounted for six percent of sales in Shanghai, Bloomberg reports. In China as a whole, the figures are therefore eight percent.
