Daimler has started manufacturing its own high-performance battery systems at its traditional Hedelfingen plant, Volkswagen is investing in the production of future-proof solid-state batteries in Salzgitter, Porsche wants to build a battery factory for high-performance cells in Tübingen, and Opel parent Stellantis plans to produce in Kaiserslautern in the future.
