The film scooped seven out of a total of eleven nominations. “For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities,” said Michelle Yeoh, who became the first Asian to win the award for best actress. Ke Huy Quan won an Oscar for best supporting actor.
